We are sticking up an electric fence to keep the edible pets in one area of the garden

Now we have a nice big fat energiser sat in an outhouse which is powering the local pig farm.

So rather then buy an energiser i'm going to plug into this one.

The question is can i use a normal electrical lead frm this to the electric fence or do i need to get the proper double insulated lead out wire?

Smiler.

What do you mean by 'normal'?

What is the voltage output of the Energiser?

What's the run from the source to the fence like? As in how far, what kind of environment?
Purely from a safety point of view I wouldn't have a permanent cable just lying along the floor where it could become damaged. Fair enough its not high voltage but something to think about.

By normal i mean normal domestic bog standard twin core and earth

And the voltage is in the thousands but bugger all energy

Ok maybe I should have said its not high current. You wouldn't have an issue with the diameter of standard twin and earth, the only issue would be as I said before, the landscape you are planning on running the cable across.
