Nearly 12 months ago we lost our neighbour and great friend.
One thing she did love was her car and cars in general and took great pleasure from seeing my Noisy cars as she called them.
While she was alive she allowed me to use her back garage to store one of my TVRs however when she passed away i thought i was going to have to find a new place to store it.
However she had left instruction with her estate that i should have the opportunity to purchase the garage and land at the back for what ever the estate agent thought it would devalue the property by.
There thought was that it would make very little if any difference as they initially did not even realise it was there.
Hence we where able to purchase the rear garage and the land along to our property.so we have the whole back lane and trees.

This is what we have been able to create I must say when we started I did not realise what we could create however it has developed and although the Office still has work to do to finish and some things like Compressor air system still have to go in its starting to come together.

Here are some pictures of the build we have called it Bettys Garage after Betty who loved her car and driving so much.

Wow!

Old ladies rule, eh? thumbup

I don't know by how much that deflated her house value, but it's done yours no harm at all. wink

She was a great Lady
I think as we have made things so much tidier and created privacy in the garden in her Garden as it was overlooked it probably has made no difference as for ours its immaterial as we probably will never sell in my lifetime.
Plan B is to knock our garage down and build a new 4 car square workshop Garage as well with a 4 poster but not for a while.

Saw this on one of the TVR Facebook groups, and it looks ace! Nice back story to it as well and you've done your neighbour proud.

Out of interest, how do you find those stainless cabinets? Any issues with them? I know Costco occasionally have some, and eBay has loads but i'm not 100% convinced whether to use them in my new garage.

I have these two. I've only just taken delivery of the second bench, but quality is far better than it should be for the money.

Well i thought i should update the thread here as i have managed to get some more things done over the last few months.
Plus the office area is now finished so i can get on with some work in an organised fashion as long as i dont get to distracted.
Still to do is to build the storage outside for the Hydro-vane Compressor and get it plumbed in Getting there slowly.
Here are a few more Pictures

Nice garage some lovely motors and equipment in there. I'm looking to build something of pretty much those exact dimensions minus the office at the back.

Can I ask how much approximately it cost just to build the structure and base and your dimensions?

Its hard to compare i had a good friend who is a builder who did it on Mates Rates when he was quiet however depending on where you are located North or south i would factor in 8k to £11k for that side and more if you want turn key as i did a fair amount myself.
Overall i haven't added it up it was case of doing wahat i wanted and writing the check a bit like restoring a car if you count you stop sometimes.
It also depends on your site i has a sloping site so we poured £1500 of concrete.
Rather that saying what i spent i would budget from 15k to 25k there was £1500 of Insulation alone then roofing Felt and batten would have worked out dearer than the steel roofing and need re doing in 10 years but depending on location and planning will govern what materials you need to use.
Size is 52feet by 11.5ft at one end and 11 feet the other end due to the shape of the plot
