In my front garden I seem to have a few mushrooms growing. What stuff should I use to get rid of them, can anyone recommend a product?

Doesn't that release spores that grow more mushrooms? confused

I've no idea.

I went through a phase of spraying them with weedkiller but no longer bother, I only kick them over to reduce the risk of the dogs eating them to be honest, other than that I'd let the mower do the work (on the smaller ones).

We've had loads of mushrooms this year, I've no idea why. Would be interested to know if anyone knows a solution or even a reason.

http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/lawn-care/lgen/eli...

I did read this article before asking the question, but it doesn't say what products to use, if any. Only fungicides I can find are the ones designed to protect flowers. The article does say fungi can benefit lawns as they create nutrients for the soil. Probably explains why my front lawn looks healthier than my rear one. Downside is it doesn't look right with mushrooms all over it

They're the fruiting bodies of a (potentially massive) underground organism. Kicking them will spread the spores about.

What about mowing them?

Animals tend to know what to eat and what not to eat. It's humans that die from eating the wrong shrooms. Get a book, they might be eaters. We had a field mushroom in our garden a couple of weeks ago that was as big as a plate. Mmmmmmm!

Either mow them or just leave them to disappear themselves.

Why do you want to get rid of them? They'll be gone within a week or so! Even if they do shed spores I doubt if you'll see them again till next year.

The spores won't be fertile if you kick them early, I think ;-)

Pick them, boil in a pan, strain through the wifes hold-ups and drink. If you're tripping within the hour, they are the magic type smile

First year i've noticed the odd mushroom in the rear lawn, just pulled it out.

Then the other day I noticed a small cluster between the flagstones. I thought it might have been something in the evergreen lawn treatments I use.

Nothing more satisfying than getting out the weed burner and sending those bds to hell in a butane fuelled inferno
