I've just bought three new double-ended bits for my cordless drill/driver, and would like some way of clipping them on to the base/battery so they're ready for quick use. I'm looking for a self-adhesive plastic widget with three clips/spaces... does such a thing exist? (Can't find anything on eBay but I may be searching under the wrong term)

Try "battery drill bit holder" as an image search

If you order one make it two and I'll have one off you so split the P&P cost?

Thanks Colin - I did find that, based on Mr Mint's idea, but it looks a bit too wobbly to me. I'd like something that the bits can snap into.

I wonder if one of these would work, cheap enough to give one a try:

Double ended? Does that mean you have a cutting edge and flutes on each end? If so, how does your chick grip it? Just curious.

Don't think they're "drill bits" but driver bits.

You can get short double ended drills that have short enough flutes to leave a plain shaft in the middle.

Yes but pretty pointless having the same size drill on both ends and I'm fairly sure that's not what Simpo has in mind.

We use them at work - we drill a lot of stainless steel for pop rivets and bits blunt pretty quick or snap. Much faster to just spin the bit round than stop and dig out a new bit.

I guess they have their uses if you drill a shedload of holes (no pun intended) and are likely to blunt them quiclly. That's all I can think of.

As for the driver bits, you can get little stumpy ones that fit in a hex holder, rather than a separate chuckable bit. Makes them a lot smaller. I have one battery drill that has a magnetic pad on the front, below the trigger, that can hold four or five of the little bits. Makita I think it is, 18v, but it is in a container halfway between Asia and England....

Think he means the double ended screwdriver bits. I have the ones that have pz1 on one side pz2 on the other etc. Very handy

And something like this to hold them

Try Aralditing a magnet to the side of your drill?

You may want to read that back hehe

They are indeed driver bits not drill bits.

Aralditing a magnet is my kind of bodge!
