The wall next to our bath is going to be retiled with glass mosaics. I would like to have a separate light shining onto this wall so that it is nice a cosy when you're in the bath.

So, I reckon I've got two options. Easiest is a couple of directional, dimmable downlighters in the ceiling that are angled towards the wall. Downside is they might reflect straight into the eyes of whoever is lying in the bath. The other option is a strip of LEDs inset into the ceiling just above the feature wall. The LEDs would have a frosted plastic cover to diffuse the light.

Has anyone done something like this? How did it go? Are there any other options?

Is it possible to edge-light the glass with buried LED strips, the same way/effect as glass shelving? Might be worth having a play with some of the tiles and LED?

That's not a bad idea actually. I was going to mount the tiles loosely on a piece of old board anyway to help decide between portrait or landscape so I'll try you idea when I do that. Nice one.

Take a look at litetile illuminated splashbacks. Not quite what you're looking for but could be of interest.

would this not be a no-goer if the OP then grouts between the individual tiles?

If you go this route and want to minimise, get some low glare downlights (where the led is recessed further in, and with a black baffle).

I have a led within a aluminium conduit with a frosted diffuser on it. Gives out a nice effect but mine is still very bright. You can probably get a lower watt led that may be more suitable for your needs I'll try and look for a better photo!

Does it not dim down?

It doesn't have a dimmer. Not sure if it's possible with led from a dimmer switch. The coloured one can be dimmed and change to any colour but through a small remote control that keeps going missing!
