Looking to change most of our internal doors for unpainted oak or engineered oak, have seen a place online called distinctive doors, anyone had any experience with them or the other usual suspects like howdens or wickes? Howdens are reticent at actually providing a price, so we may discount them altogether. For nine doors (some glazed) plus handles, distinctive doors are quoting £1100 ish, although one of the 'internal' doors is actually an external door as it's between kitchen and garage, hence a little more expensive than the rest. Seems like an ok price but should I be looking anywhere else?

Take your quote with you to Howdens.
Even without an account unlikely to turn away business.
Bear in mind these doors don't like more than a couple of mil taking off, some you can't take any off.

Wickes prices aren't bad but sometimes have limited sizes. Try your local builders merchants, Premdoor, XL, & Jeldwen are all very similar spec, usually around £70/75 + VAT. I don't find Howdens competitive on doors. You need a 44mm fire door for the garage.

Do you mean Doors of Distinction in Ferndown/ Ringwood? If so they are very very good, I got 5 or 6 part glazed JB KIND Ostria oak doors pre-finished from them a year or so ago. Just under £1000 for all of them with hinges and hardware (one was an FD30,) but we picked them up so no delivery charges.

Mine are Howdens (genoa or dordogne from memory which ever was cheapest)

Again from memory i paid about £70 inc vat per door. Bought my handles from a company online for what seemed like next to nothing.

Unless you REALLY want to spend £1100+ on doors i'd shop around.
