Delonghi do a decent range with a model that will fit your budget. John Lewis
Have a good selection of different makes.

I bought a bean to cup with the thingy that steams the milk (Miele) and it is awesome. Need plenty of practice and the machine setting up properly so you get the right strength.

I can now make Lattes as well as Starbucks or Costa.

We have a Delonghi "Magnifica" bean-to-cup (espresso not filter) machine and my only complaint is that it's not very easy to clean thoroughly. It only gets cleaned about once a month though, so that's hardly a major concern. Might be slightly out of budget, though.

If you want a filter machine the best I have ever had is this.

I have this one. Simple, it works, jug keeps coffee hot for a fair while without stewing it like a warming plate does.

Would recommend.

We bought one of these last year:

Fantastic machine, quick, easy and with a minimum of 5 year warranty (extended to 10 years when we bought ours). Comes in a variety of colours and spare parts are available.

Agreed. I bought one of these for my parents just before Christmas to replace their ageing glass one. They are over the moon with it.
