Hi All,

Has anyone used the render from https://corksoluk.com/ ?

Im looking to get our georgian house rendered and this is claimed to have amazing insulating properties.

Any experiences most welcome.

Thats a web site with lots of claims and zero technical detail to back it up.

The 'gallery' is somewhat disappointing.

Website says 'More and more painters and plasterers are discovering the advantages of spray cork for inside or outside use' yet the Applications tabs only has 'exterior'.

I think if it really was that good, everybody would be doing it. Is it expensive?

Id say its expensive.

Ive been quoted 20k to remove existing render and spray on 2 coats of this stuff. This is for a large 4 bed detached house.

I guess the first test, if you're still interested, is to get a quote from a normal builder to remove the render (because anyone can do that), then get a price for application only. If they refuse then I wouldn't bother.

If your objective is to save money on heating bills, how long will it take you to recoup the cost? I suspect 'never'....

Watching with interest, what are the alternatives you have explored?

Have you asked them for a data sheet it spec sheet?

Very much this.

There is absolutely ZERO technical information or accreditation shown on their website.

In the absence of this, the only conclusion that can possibly be drawn is: snake oil - run away.

Plasters forum are too keen either. Expensive, hard to apply and doesn't look too great either.

Suspect something more conventional is a better plan.

Plus they sell it as insulation but how effective can a few mm of cork aggregate actually be?

Hi DBSNOOR - I was Googling this product Corksol - and came across your post.
I was just wondering if you went ahead with it and had any feedback?
Thanks!

Cheers Bob.
