So i have an L shaped kitchen, on wall is 10ft wide the other is 16 foot long

The fabricator is cutting the quartz as one piece for the 10ft section and going 4 ft deep on the return (so hockey stick shape)
This 4ft piece ends in the middle of the sink so a join will be in the center of the sink, happy with that as easier to match

This leaves a 12ft run, but the max length of the Quartz is 10ft, he is making it in 2 X 6 ft pieces, my issue is that the 8 foot area directly next ot the sink will be the chopping area so i suggested he does 1X 10ft and 1X2ft piece.

His English is not great and he kept saying they cant do this due ot the size, which makes no sense to me as they already are putting in the larger p10ft piece

Question is, where would you put the seam? balanced 6ft in the middle, or at an end? visually i think middle, until i consider how its going to be used, then i feel it would be better to have a continuous piece where you chop and work?

Are you sure a join at the sink is a good idea as it will need a lot of support. As for a join in the working area I'd expect it to be perfectly flush & you'll be chopping on a board anyway. I'd think about having the 10' section as a rectangle & 2x 8' sections.
