Hello, looking for some help!

Where on earth do you find X-large custom sized curtains?

Im moving to a new apartment in April and I need 5 x 130cm(w), 320cm(l) and 2 x 150cm(w), 320cm(l) curtains or blinds.

The biggest off the shelf curtains are 300cm(l), even a lot of 'custom' makers wont go above 300cm.

Has anyone here used a good custom maker before?
We will have to go the custom route for a large bay window and plan on using Dunelm (spl?) after a quote last weekend. Ours stop short of 300cm in length but I saw nothing to indicate that any bigger would be a problem.

yellow pages- there will be someone near by who can help.

I know of a seamstress that used to make stage curtains, so she should be able to help- can pass on details if needs be.

they won't be cheap though- think at least 4 figures for properly made curtain of this size- they will have to be lined for strucutre, will need significant strengthening and the joins will have to be carefully managed.

They only do a 305cm drop - thanks though!
Double check Euroboy. The wife has reminded me that the curtain section at dunelm (and that detailed on the web) does have a max length.

However, you can deal with the fabric section, where you chose your fabric, lining etc and have someone make them into curtains (we were only quoted £75 labour for this).

They should be able to do virtually any length. I suppose this makes sense as the fabric comes on a roll, which is probably around 50m in length. Can't see why 3 or 4m would be a problem for them.

These are the best places to get them made. They're all theatrical curtain makers, but they're not as dear as you would think.
It's worth a try.

Where in NL are you based?? Most fabric shops (and even market stalls) here will make curtains to order - some even do the making for free if you are buying fabric over a certain value... - we looked at teh DIY stores (Karwei, Praxis etc), chain stores like Vroom and Hema, and local shops....

The other option are the woonboulevard type places, Hage wonen is one that makes to order if I remember correctly. PM me if you need some translation help

At least you get the space down there - I'm just 20 minutes south of Schiphol, where it's a little more crowded. I'm lucky in that I'm comfortable getting by in Dutch, and if not most people speak English too.
