Hey all,
Anyone know what the going rate is on removing trees?, this tree (the one with the for sale sign on it), my friend needs it removing, to make way for more parking space out front, She's not very handy when it comes to manual labour so i'm dealing with it! For info the area is Southampton

Thats not a tree! Just pull the damn thing out, and keep driving all the way to the tip!
Ha.. noted!, i recon i could get it down myself, but its the stump/roots that i would struggle with.

Well, cut down to near ground level, then administer root poison to remaining stump. Leave for 1 month then call stump grinder in. Finished.

I would also go for the DIY method, chop most of the branches of it, leaving the trunk. Tie a rope to the top of the trunk. Dig around the base of the tree, severing the roots you found. Occasionally pull on the rope to check the stability of the tree.Once it starts to move get someone to keep the rope taut so you know which way it will go, or attach it to a car to keep taut. Dig a bit more until with a pull it falls over. Cut through any visible roots that are still connected, chop trunk leaving enough to enable the stump to be levered around to cut through remaining roots.

Job done.
Cheers for the replies!!!!!, i recon you're right, i'll have a go and see how i get on, should be a laugh.......... smile and its practically good exercise!.
