Last year I got sick of replacing the belt in the Flymo for £10 every couple of months, so I bought an old, non functioning Suffolk Punch petrol lawnmower for £5 on ebay. I stripped it down and fixed it up and it's been going strong ever since.

About 6 years ago i sold my motorbikes. I still have the aftermarket exaust from the blade. It resides in the shed, providing a home to many small insects, immediately adjacent to the lawnmover.

For a while now I've had this little voice in the back of my head and it just won't go away.

So -

+

?

Or is it too silly?

I knew i'd come to the right place.

I shall report back with my progress. I think a custom paint job might be nice, plus perhaps one of those rubber bra things that Volkswagon people like. It's already "slammed" as i like the grass nice and short smile

I'm not sure it's poissble to contrive a reason to fit lambo doors on a lawnmower though hehe

If you do it, it needs to be stood vertically, possibly with of those little flap things on top...

hehe
Oooh i like that.

It also solves the functional problem of burning my hands/ heat transfer if it's attached to the handles

Dings I can live with biggrin

At the risk of unleashing the hounds I need to make a quite system louder and don't mind a bit of cut and shut to make it fit
I think i have to pimp my lawnmower now smile

it would be terribly bad form to not follow through

I'm not sure my little suffolk punch can really follow that ride-on mower!

Paint job started at the weekend, but i might change my mind about the glitzy gold bits and do some chrome instead. Exhaust is mounted, but still need to fab someting up to connect it.

Trying to get my hands on some lights....... i might see if i can get some halfords chav gear to stick on it....

Rather shamefully it's all in bits in my shed. I haven't given up on it though.

Sorry it has got slightly sidetracked by my bespoke Z4M carbon fibre intake / exhaust modification project smile

I will be back on the lawnmower when it gets a bit warmer in the shed - i haven't forgotten.... and now i know how to make carbon fibre parts.....
