My DIY installed irrigation system has been doing a good job but now I need to extend it under the gravel drive. This means trenching or tunneling the 1/2 inch water pipe.
I really want to tunnel it because I just know its going to sag and look rubbish after a couple of years if it's trenched.

Who does this sort of work? The bore hole would be about 7mtrs long and only needs to be 6 inches below surface I would have thought.

Thanks for responses. So much easier when you know what to Google.

Well, a trench to lay electrical cables by a previous owner has sagged and there seems to be a tarmac like, solid surface under the gravel in places. I don't fancy trying to excavate.

Tunnelling it seems to be a more solid way IMHO.

Be sure you know where the service pipes and cables run!
Well that's a worry. I'll post when I get around to doing anything about it - I seem to be spending all my time cutting grass at the moment. Why can't it pick a length and stick to it!

Thought I'd finish this thread off - I like it when others do that;

I have just had the moling done and am really pleased about the results. In the end I had the drive moled in 2 places to allow me to get irrigation to all parts of the garden. So a total of 3 holes were dug out (by hand) and 2 pipes were put in, with my Gardena irrigation pipe fed through them. Apart from the new pipes sticking up, its as if nothing had happened, so well did they return the site to normal. That included lawn and graveled areas.

So I can heartily recommend Impact Moling of Basingstoke for a great job.
