Quickstep/ Wooden / Engineered flooring

We are wanting to put some sort of Wooden flooring in the living room. Would you recommend Quickstep? It seems to be a cheap alternative - but is it good quality and will it last - or do we bight the bullet and good for proper wooden flooring?

And the underlay you wouldn't recommend the quick step stuff?

We've had a quote of £980 for fitting only of Quickstep 4.88m x 4.24m room size.

That sounds a little steep to me!
