Garage Alarm With Roller Doors
Discussion
Got an interesting one here, got a 3 car garage with 3 separate remote controlled electric roller doors and side door.
Looking at putting some sort of alarm in there but from conversations with installers they want me to enter thought the side door and unset / set the alarm. This is not really what i want to do to be honest as i just want to pull up and open the door and drive in, the side door was installed only encase there is a power cut or issues with the main doors.
I must not be the only one with this issues, how have others done this? maybe a remote controlled alarm or perhaps something you can set and unset via your phone ?

Thanks for you help and advise so far, to give a bit more info.
The doors are indeed electric with a light so that can be used. I really wanted it to set and unset from outside rather than have it on a timer there are a few reasons
1 i am lazy !
2 i would like the alarm to go off as soon as there is a break in or the doors are forced up and not on time delay.
I really wanted it at least to call me or text me when it is going off or even monitored by a third party.
The guy i asked was the service engineer for the one at my business that is on Redcare and GSM, so may not be the best man to ask.
I have been down the rout before and installers usually like a certain type of brand and this is why i asked for advice.

As I said if you use the output off the electric doors to start the entry timer the door contacts could be on instant alarm.
Also look at dualcom gprs as a form of signalling device. Where in the UK are you located?

I have no experience with wireless alarms but really wanted to go down the hardwire route.
