Hi all,

Can anyone who is, or has had done recently give me an idea of current sqm cost?

We are refurbing a property, and moving the kitchen to a new extension- builder has quoted approx £65 sqm for labour/grout/adheisive (so excluding the cost of the tiles).

I think this is excessive and, as it turns out, he isn't subbing it out to a tiler, he, as the builder is doing it, I don't doubt he'll do an okay job, but is that figure the going rate?

For info, its a fresh screed floor, standard porcelain 30x60 tiles, no awkward cuts/ shapes required approx 28sqm total area.

We are Surrey/South London borders if anyone can recommend anyone if the cost is more than the going rate.

Thanks,

F

£25-£30 per Sqm is the ball park, builder clearly doesnt want the extra work
I think at £2k he's more than happy to do the work.

Time to find a tiler.

Thanks all for the sense check.
