Quickstep laminate - issue with closing piece
Discussion
My first time fitting Quickstep laminate, and I'm struggling with fitting the final piece; it's refusing to sit flat. All the joints look OK, and it will sit down with some force, but springs back up again. Anyone else had similar issue? Previous brand had no such issues.

The last piece often does that because you can't knock it fully into place. I use a zig-zag piece of metal + hammer to administer the final taps

There's one in the photo in my opening post See https://www.envirobuild.com/products/laminate-floo...
I ended up installing the 3 pieces of the final row 1 by 1, tapping them in both directions using the puller.
I initially managed to lock the final and penultimate rows together as suggested in the thread, but couldn't get then to stay locked when rocking then into final position.
The Furlong branded stuff I used previously had a V-shaped plastic lip on the short edge, which always gave a really satisfying click when tapping the board down.

I wonder if the floor underneath might not be quite level, perhaps not enough to notice or be in issue in and of itself but enough to cause some 3-dimensional grief to what is ideally a 2-dimensional action!
Certainly very possible. I just laid straight on the original screed (via some Timbermate Excel) but there is a noticeable dip in the new laminate in the opposite corner of the room. Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
