Basin waste / trap - help!

Hi all,

I'm having a bit of trouble with working out what I need for my new bathroom basin waste/trap.

I've fit the bathroom and we have 40mm solvent weld waste pipe coming up inside the (left corner) vanity unit. We then have this sink:

This came with a waste kit with sprung/click-clack waste and overflow but they are both terrible quality so I'd intended to replace with McAlpine etc..

I'm struggling to find the parts partly because I think I'm searching the wrong terms. I'd like a 40mm sprung waste (will need to be unslotted?) but I dont know what parts I need to connect the sink overflow in to the trap? Can i use a trap with an appliance connection/fitting? I can't find anything specific but can't be the first to have this issue. Happy to reduce to 32mm and connect into my 40mm if needed as this is only a basin.

Fundamental bits;
Basin waste should be 1 1/4 (32mm).
You will need slotted if you have an overflow in the sink.
Use a proper basin seal rather than the one you get with it.

So, 32mm waste, and trap, then a suitable adaptor to get on to the 40mm outlet.

Take care that push fit and solvent weld are different materials and different sizes!

ETA: Looks like - from the B&Q site - that the basin has a separate overflow rather than one being cast in to the ceramic. Reviews of that part don't seem to be great, so you might need to source a new overflow system too.

Thank you - that's really helpful. Happy to use 32mm waste and trap + adaptor.

The last bit is what i was struggling with - it has a separate overflow (I will search for another) and i'm not sure how to connect that into the trap? The B&Q supplied trap has a connection for it (but terrible quality).
