Turf cutting on wet lawn

For reasons I won't bore you with I'm going to start again with my lawn so want to remove the existing turf. I'm planning on hiring a proper petrol turf cutter to do this.

I'd like to do it this coming week but showers are forecast on most days - can I use a petrol turf cutter on a wet lawn, or must it be dry please?

It's under 200m2 - I assume I can comfortably do this in one day?
