Is there anywhere you can report rogue landlords who didn't use the deposit protection scheme as they are legally obliged to do?

Despite frequent emails from them confirming that the deposit was safe with their solicitor they admitted it was a complete lie.

We now have moved out of the property and managed to get 100% of the deposit back but we are still owed £240 for LPG gas in the tank which we paid for but didn't use and I wouldn't want any other tennant to be at risk from the same petty, coniving, vindictive g1ts that we rented from.

very few landlords use them, and if tennants wish to use them, they bear the additional costs.

Landlords *have* to use them - it's the law.

Why/how did you end up paying for an LPG tank that you didn't use?

The deposit never was with a solicitor, our landlords lied about it.

We had to get a delivery of gas from Calor in March and their minimum delivery is 600 litres (£300) so we had only used about 20% of that by the time we moved out, leaving £240 worth of gas in the tank for the next tenant.

It's x3 the original deposit + the deposit, if not already returned. I've sued people twice over this.

But if they returned it, I assume that it's too late to take action?
