Boiler- of the non urine variety

M'boiler has stopped working, i ran low on oil and i think that may be the cause, its just been topped up but the bugger is refusing to do anything. If there is an air lock or something like that can i sort it myself?

Whats the best course of action? pull the front off and do some giggery pokery or admit early defeat and call in the engineer?

Grant, had a butchers last night, i couldnt loosen the feed pipe enough and i didnt want to get oil everywhere, so i've bitten the bullit and the heating engineer is coming around tomorrow morning
