Moving a lamp post

Is it possible to get a lamp post moved? We are moving into a new house next week and there is only a single driveway. There is room to extend the drive but there is a lamp post in the way.

I understand that we will probably have to stump up the cost but is the council likely to even entertain the idea of moving the post?
