Take a look at the soft collars made by a company called Nikkis Nesties, they’re the best I’ve found and fully washable. Her beds are also fab, esp if you have a digger or a heavy chinned dog that likes to rest on the sides. Mine is 8 years old and still looks brand new.

Very cute!

I’ll ask her how she made it, from memory it was a cut down piece of reasonably stiff (but thin) carpet (or maybe vinyl) backed by a soft facecloth.

There is no accidental somersaulting or cuts from plastic as per the normal ones.
Thanks!
You can buy soft ones, eg:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/BONTHEE-Adjustable-Recove...
Thanks again, all thoughts are helpful! Bentley needs an alternative to the trad plastic for when a need next arises.
Of these ones - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Protective-Inflatable-Col...

Thanks FWD but as it happens, Bentley found out how to remove one of those within a minute, rub one side back against furniture with a paw on the other side, he's far too quick off the mark and I'd have needed the tightness of a choke hold to keep the thing on him! It doesn't help that he has a lion's mane rather than a neck (I think it suits him).

The guilty party.

They don't just go over their neck, you have to thread his collar into the loops on the inside, if he can't get his collar off he can't get the neck cushion off.

That definitely sounds like it would be Bentley-proof and without wishing to be difficult, I'm not sure if it works the same way with a harness as I don't use collars and would prefer to stick with harnesses? If it's a goer still, then one way or another I'll have at least two options for him if needed and maybe three. Thanks everyone.

Well, we're a few days on from losing Murph and we're all 'getting through'. Neville has been out with us for the most part, but when he is on his own he's feeling it, howling and crying etc. His night time mad half hour has been curbed without his mate to wind up. Early days, we're all adjusting.

His new dish came today in a final attempt at slowing him down when he eats. Amazingly, this one worked and it took him about ten minutes to work through tonight.

That looks like a doggie version of afternoon tea at the Ritz.

If my two ate that concoction they would both need a roll of Andrex.

Haha he’s pretty bombproof.
He came from the breeder on Royal Canin. My daughter feeds her dachshund on a raw diet and he’s beautifully healthy with a lovely coat so we switched him to Luna & Me almost straight away.
Last night was treat night so as well as his meat patty he has a sprat, but of cheese I was cooking, some leftover tomato and a few sunflower and pumpkin seeds.

He still has crap, he’s very partial to prawn crackers for example biggrin

Rex managed to rotate the bit that doesn't go over the collar and flip it over his head backwards. It was back to the plastic buster collar after that.

My mad mutt loves to run with other mad mutts.
I have clipped this freeze frame from an iPhone video, so please excuse the quality.
Mine is the black one, the two goldens are stable mates, and the schnauzer is simply another mad keen runner.

Seth is free! Final vet check this afternoon. Advised to avoid water for the next few days (with the British weather?) but were allowed to adventure again. So he’s let some steam off, eaten some Sheep st and rolled in God knows what. But he’s happy and so am I.

It’s dinner time.

Also, it is pint time, so Otto is patiently waiting.

He’s been a hero today.

Took him to a country park where he found a black Lab to play with. Lab was utterly obsessed with Seth ignoring all other dogs and people. It became apparent the Lab wasn’t with anyone and started following us. He had no collar or harness. We waited for twenty minutes or so but no one came by so we walked to the visitor centre and handed him over to the park rangers. (I’d have happily brought him home because he was so good and totally besotted with Seth hehe). Half an hour later heading back to the van we saw a couple with another Lab and a spare lead calling out for a dog. After a brief interrogation from me (as OH put it) they confirmed they’d lost their black Lab and headed off to be reunited. Seth just has a way that draws people and dogs in bless him.
