You've broken the law and done a really really fking despicable thing into the bargain. tt.
Jeez, somebody cannot take a joke. Just thought it might spruce it up a bit!- for serious points I canny really help, not met many wild snakes just those snakes that Moroccans are keen to put on you! Edited by Big Al. on Sunday 14th August 13:57
In all seriousness though- I am sure you can find a loving home for them? or the RSPCA must be able to offer some advice on what to do. This must happen quite often, I cannot imagine many people being too happy about having snakes in the garden!

Tonker...for your wife.....serious points
1) there is absolutely NO chance of the snakes getting into your house through the drains. this aint the US! It just isn't possible.
2) I think she's seen films with snakes in. Have you any idea how hard it is to encourage all the little buggers to go through vents and stuff? wild snakes do NOT come into dwellings in the UK. You have nothing of interest and as they feel and hear by vibration they'll stay well away.
Also...you don't really have that much chance of catching it. its fun to try but unless you lie in wait.....well it just aint gonna happen really. taking a compost heap to pieces probably ranks up there as one of the worlds less pleasant jobs....and how will you know if you find nothing? or something?
There is a spray I could send you which if you do round the perimeter of your house will stop any snake crossing even if it was inclined to which it wouldn't be. Wold this put your wifes fears at ease?
honestly honestly honestly - they WONT ever come into your house - and even if they did are rather less dangerous than even a mouse which might have a nibble at something.
