Are you suggesting the cat would enjoy be swung around by its tail (a rather delicate part of the body) by a drunken yob? Do you think it was purring away contentedly during this or yowling.....I'd hazard a guess at yowling but you never know....

I'm not saying the cat enjoyed it but on the scale of things you could do to a cat, swinging it around by a leg and a tail is not that bad. Cats are quite resilient, it might not want much to do with people again, but will probably be ok.

Again, of course it will "probably be ok" however it was almost certainly quite traumatic at the time and I can't see that "probably be ok" makes it a remotely acceptable or reasonable thing to do?

It's not as bad as raping children or robbing a granny in her own home but it's still the act of a complete and utter who should be punished accordingly.

This action could easily have caused major injury to the cat. There are many nerve endings in the tail, having it wrenched it this way could easily have caused eg bladder paralysis, faecal incontinence.

The actions of this man should not be played down.
