Years ago ,I had a collie pup ,which was giving me problems geting her toilet trained . We visited my parents ,and my pup and parents Poodle/Bejong cross got on well . Next morning ,however - pup had pee on floor. Next night - nothing ,and from then on - pup was scrupoulously clean .Why - we reckon , poodle had "talked " to pup . I 'd reckon that an older dog passes on it's cleanliss attitue to a younger one . And possibly a bit more .

Our Corgi X was a nightmare and even on the cage it had 'This dog is very, very VERY destructive' so I presume someone had already taken her back.
But she was homed with a 12yr old dachshund and 14+ year old CKCS I really think it calmed her down.

I looked after a friends 6month old Whippet for a month last year. He was supposed to be "house trained", but pee'd on the carpet the first night. What he was, was "home trained". He'd learned not to pee at home... his home! It took a week for him to learn not to pee in ANY house and untill he came to me to situation had never come up.
