When we decided which dog to get, my first criteria was not looking gay when out walking it!
Second was a dog that carried it's own stick
Third was it would stick it's head out the car window when driving
The one we got (Eddie the Beagle) ticks all these boxes
We just forgot to specify a dog that comes back when you want it to!

Fortunately our other dog was a border collie. Bright as a button. When the beagle went AWOL we sent the collie to find it. Which it always did. Only one day it returned with the beagle ........ And three sheep!
