Appreciate the sentiment, however, my dog is quite the opposite. Cost buggar all (£5) and is now 12, doesn't smell ever and is great around the house. Wouldn't be without him.
You have a dog whose poo does not smell, you could make millions breeding it.

Now, if we had a Pet section this thread would really confuse the mods as if to place it there or not.

I just don't get animals. I don't like slobber, or smelly poo..

Just not a cat or dog person. Or chickens...anything with feathers eugh.

And fish are just horrid.

And spiders and the such. I"m not so keen on guinea pigs, rats, gerbils..

I just don't get it, animals are stupid they can be expensive, they smell and you can't have a conversation with them (although strangely people try!)

Apparently this makes me a bad person, I can't be on my own?

Actually, you can speak to an animal; google N'Kisi the African Grey Parrot.

I hate some animals (some dogs piss me off something rotten), but I still DESPISE anyone who mistreats animals. Infact, I put a lot of animals above humans; at least no animal has ever gone out of its way to try and make my life hell; plenty of humans have.

I have a small zoo of animals, all of whom live in a cage, hutch or pond thye majority of the times.

I do not like dogs however, and agree with the OP's sentiment on that score. I have yet to meet a dog, no matter how obedient and well trained, that I could tolerate sharing my house/car/life with.

People who don't understand the pleasure of having a pet are really missing out.
I've always had a dog , I couldn't imagine life without one.

They enrich your life far more than materialistic possesions ever could.

you've clearly had a tough life, but no animal is worth more than any human imho.

Really , so if you had to choose between helping to rehabilitate some low life on death row in an American jail by letting him live within your home and family or taking in a dog from the local dogs home who was destined to be put to sleep you'd choose Bubba the serial rapist would you ?

of course. By the way, the dog would be due to be KILLED. you can't actually hurt its feelings by saying that, so there's no need to be so bloody oversensitive.

I'm not being over sensitive , I just don't accept that all human life is more precious than any animals. There are quite a few humans I'd much rather see dead than some dog waiting to be re-homed, or do you have a special place in your heart for Osama bin Laden

Why do people have pets?
At a guess, because they like them?

Who'd have thought it would be Pistonheads that finally put to bed that millennia old debate - 'Do people like different things? - Yes' before anyone else.

...And come from another planet and should all be destroyed before they take over the Earth!
IMHO, of course! smile
