They do say that dogs take after their owners.

They also say there’s an exception to every rule...

Had to say goodbye to our little girl today. After a few months dealing with Cushing's disease, she caught pneumonia yesterday and the vet had to make the call this morning as she was rapidly going down hill bless her.
I know everyone says their dog is the best (and they're right) but she was about as perfect dog as you could get, and her absence is going to leave a big hole in our lives after 13 years. After the absolute crushing devastation of losing her rescue sister last year, I'm not sure I'm up for getting another pup anytime soon

Really sorry to hear this news. It will get easier to deal with, just give it time. People who say “They’re just a pet...” just don’t get it.

You will know when the time is right to get another, or at the very least, to start thinking about it. There is no rush. These things do seem to have a way of working themselves out (as others have described).

It is really sad to hear of folk losing their best friends.

I sincerely hope you come to terms with your loss and hopefully feel the need to have someone to greet you, who is always pleased to see you and who will be by your side, back in your life.

Sorry for your loss, it sucks in the extreme when you have to make that call even when you know its for the best at they are no longer suffering. Run free little one!

We are lucky that our pups are 13months and 3months old, but already I would be lost without them. They are a huge part of our lives and make us smile all the time.

Fingers crossed they remain part of our lives for many years to come.

A few recent snaps...notice a theme?

Now the sensible weather has returned, Harley and his buddies play super hard at the park at night, leaving the poor boy totally shattered.

And just to prove he’s not really broken:

They delivered new sod to the park so Harley of course staked his claim as king of the castle. One of his buddies, Boone joined him.

We took the dogs to the beach in Holland for the first time last week, they loved it.

The first thing Red did was to clear all systems biggrin Apologies for the shaky image but it was BLOODY FREEZING!!

Not ours but a guide dog puppy, Pixie.

She has now gone back to her puppy raisers who have been almost embarrassingly generous with gifts.

We had her for five days and she was a pleasure to look after.

Great job with Buzz, looks much better now. Also love that last pic of them all lying together, I assume you just sit on the floor somewhere you find space hehe

The last video of buzz was funny too, the other dogs joining in to tell him to stfu hehe

haha I sit at my desk next to the sofa, the sofa belongs to the dogs biggrin

We just done a 5.2km walk, me and Buzz only. I need to manage his energy, he's definitely going to need more exercise than the rest of the pack as they're all old and/or sick. He's young (nearly 3) and getting healthier by the day smile To be honest from a selfish point of view I really enjoyed it, gets me away from the computer and internet a bit and we live in a beautiful place for walking - https://www.google.com/search?q=alte+fontes&cl...

If he's tired out and happy his behaviour is easy to deal with spin

Back on the sofa sleeping, I'm going to take a chance and leave him there while I go out for lunch. Normally he'd be closed in the bedroom or put back in the dog shelter. Lets see biggrin
