Not my dogs but they do give me an excuse to post here. A couple of Cambodian "village" dogs from yesterday. They sat and watched me eat lunch and, being the big softie that I am, I eventually gave in to their beautiful eyes, stripped all of my chicken off the bone and fed it to them in bite size pieces.

Good man, they would haunt me that I couldn’t take them home. Bottom one is pregnant or recently given birth.

The sandy coloured one got more than a half share due to her condition!

I know exactly what you mean about wanting to take them home and we often feel the same way. However, these 2 (and most of the other village dogs we've seen) appeared both happy and healthy and we didn't feel too upset walking away on this occasion. The same applies to the cats we have seen (I posted one of them on the Caturday thread).

Can any of the PH dog fans identify this breed for me (from last night's Death in Paradise) - my OH has fallen in love and wants to know the breed to see if it's a good running buddy candidate for the future:

I know someone who had one and it had some kind of congenital joint problem (hips or back legs can't remember just what) but it was on Metacam all it's life.

Don't know if joint issues are inherent in this breed but might not make a good running buddy if they are.

As some of you may remember, we lost our beloved almost 13 year old Westie Poppy at the end of October. This was really heartbreaking and for the last 3 months, I’ve been on a mega downer & haven’t wanted to do anything.

Anyway, last Monday I saw a flagged pets4homes advert on one of the Westie FB pages I’m on. Roxy’s family were struggling to devote the time needed to her (young family, young boys) so they wanted to do the right thing by her, as in re-homing her to a family that can invest time & love. Both quantities me & my wife have.

So, we made a long South to North Wales trip on Friday & returned with this 2 yr 4mt old bundle of gorgeousness. Proper love at first site.

She needs a bit of training & socialising (barking at other dogs & animals, even if they are on the TV) but is very loving, great with kids & pretty good on the lead.

She loves walks so that’s just the kick I needed to get out again smile

Heart melted already!

Anyone else struggle with films that have scenes with dogs coming to harm?
Worst bit in The Terminator?......

When I was little and the video rental shops were in full swing, my mum always had to make sure that the person in the store had seen the film and could garuntee that no dogs died in it. On the occasions that this system failed, she was left with a very distraught 8 year old.

Means that The Wrath of Khan was a far safer bet than a Disney flick.

We're going to be up your way in April, so if I see a 'small horse' pouncing in the sea I'll know who it is wink

Roxy looks great, lucky girl.

12 mile walk with my two yesterday, thought they might be tired this morning and maybe less energetic than normal... Nope!

Indeed, the Dogs name is Summer IIRC, but damned if I can think of the posters name...
