Do they shed much hair? This is the one thing that puts me off getting a dog, but if I were to get one it would only ever be an EBT
They are short haired and do shed. Not huge amounts but the annoying thing is that their hair is stubborn. Most characterful breed I’ve known. You wouldn’t swap him for the world.

Arthor is big on “dragsies” too, as is my parents Bully Rosie, infact despite weighing 8kg less she is a sod to try and move when she digs in.
Arthor however has been bought up properly and therefore does dragsies mainly at entrances to pubs which often can mean only one thing!
I see owning a Bully like belonging to a really ste club - you get excited when you see another EBT and go and talk to the owner and it’s like a therapy session!

I've loved the look of these for about 20 years and we're finally in a position to get a dog so I joined an EBT FB group. In all honesty, it's put me off getting one, they are batst crazy and although most of the traits are endearing, sadly, they aren't the breed for us (fortunately I found this out before getting one), What's trancing all about???

It’s sad to read but it’s good to see someone do a bit of due diligence. Bull terriers are absolutely not a “first dog” breed. They are mental. Full stop.
Best breed in the world if you can get over the foibles.

It saddened me too but it's for the best, same with bull mastiffs and their short life span and being prone to lots of illnesses. We will be getting a rescue bull type breed cross (there's a lovely Boxador that we're in love with but need to move house first)
Great choice - there are so many bull breeds in rescues. The bad rep is across the board - I’d have more if I could. As for trancing - ‘tis the season now. Christmas trees are great for a trancing bully.

They are mental, they get less mental and more lazy as they get older, but they will always have the mental.
Rosie at 11 pretends she’s old and slowed down until her twice daily mad 5 minutes where she is the most agile explosive creature on the planet. When the mad 5 minutes is over she’ll then struggle to get onto the sofa.
One thing I don’t get with Bullies is Rosie adores me and goes nuts when I see her but doesn’t do that to my folks (She’s theirs). Arthor my bloody dog could not give 2 sts about showing me any emotion even coming home after a holiday...
Wow, it's been a while since i posted on here..
Our two are getting along so much better.. They're both absolutely mental, but that of course is a bully thing. Mental in different ways, all Bull Terrier traits, but they seem to have different ones between them.. No trancing though..
As it's Christmas, I guess a christmas picture is on order

He has the same problem of not being able to look up without help that Lou does.
Suns out. Lous out!
It’s her happy season now she can sit in the sun looking off into the distance all day.
Edit to add - fking iPhone!

They certainly love the sun. This one was my friends in. NZ the day I left last year. Such a lovely nature and never ever wanders from her 4 acre garden.

My Bullie is 6 now, fantastic dogs and nothing comes close to them in terms of character and belligerence. Definitely not a first dog but they'll be the only breed you'll ever have afterwards.
Here's Bess when she was 2 and we were about to go on a road trip.
They are great, really. Definitely not for everyone though. Here's Bess when she was 2 and we were about to go on a road trip.
At least yours drives facing the right way!
