I find that post unusually saddening. It's for the cat in the picture and for my own old chap Boris who has been on borrowed time with his cardiomyopathy for over a year now. Each time the vet sees him she's surprised that he's still with us and apparently happy. Keep swallowing the pills old chap!BigMon said:
The final act of kindness and love you can give to them is to let them go before it's too late and they're in pain or distress.
We had to do the same with our old boy earlier this year. It's heartbreaking but the right thing to do.
Ours went a couple of weeks ago. Keep expecting to trip over him as he always got under our feet.We had to do the same with our old boy earlier this year. It's heartbreaking but the right thing to do.
Sorry to read about any that have left us.
Here's our cat Cassie:

And before her we had Willow, she died 2 years ago aged only 10:

Well it's done now, perhaps I could have waited a few more weeks, but no matter what there is never enough time. She wasn't in any obvious pain or distress, but was getting weaker and wasn't grooming, so the vet agreed it was the right thing to do. Couldn't quite bring myself to be in the room for it, which I feel bad for, but she now has a permanent place in the sunniest spot of the garden. I'm also thankful I got to choose the time and place, a luxury many pet owners aren't afforded. So long then, thanks for everything. I'll always have the memories, and the vomit stain on the carpet.

Please can I ask the name of your cat? May he/she be at peace and you too :’(AW111 said:
Ha! Many years ago my parents had a cat, also called Sophie, who would often do the same thing. She never really grew out of that kitten thing of climbing up your leg when it was feeding time, when she grew up she could jump from the floor to your shoulder so she'd just do that and watch you do whatever you were doing. She almost ended up in a pot of soup or similar a few times if she'd misjudge it slightly...8bit said:

She's been particularly insistent today The strange thing is she demands to sit in my lap, but only when I'm wearing jeans (if indoors). She will stare at me soulfully, but refuse to jump up, if I'm wearing shorts/trousers/pyjamas etc.
Outdoors, she doesn't care what I wear if she wants a lap.
The parrot act is only for my wife.
