Based on earlier pics, I think its just the way they are both sitting ? One is sat back on his haunches, the other slouched forward ?

It's going to be 11 years old this year. I've just walked it 12 miles. It's STILL scampering around the house getting on my nerves!

Never get something with even a HINT of Jack Russell Terrier in the mix if you want a quiet life!

What a lovely little dog !

They were similar but growth has he having longer legs, snout and tail. She has stockier legs and a little smaller now. (And less chilled / separation anxiety)

Both now in the doghouse - we got to 10pm with a zero pee in the house tonight. Until......

Can be frustrating, Maple went 5 times in the house one lunchtime. Each time my wife was cleaning one up she did another!

Consistency, massive praise when they get it right, train a word when they go, (we use "toilet" for wee and "go poo". Handy when you're going into a shop or pub and want then to empty on command.

We kept an eye on her pretty much 100% in the first few weeks and, (just like a toddler) tried to know when she'd need and make sure she was in the garden ready. Also removing the water bowl at 6pm helped getting through the night in the early weeks.

I believe they go where they get used to going, and that each wrong one counts 10 against you. Just like kids, they will get it. Until then, it's Groundhog Day, but you now know to get them in the garden at 5 to 10 tonight. smile

We rehomed her when she was 3, so I've only got pictures of her before getting a grey bonce.
How could anyone have given her up?!
I can't really speak for the exact personal circumstances, but I gather the previous owner was no longer able to manage dog ownership.

I don't think she spent a lot of time out of the house before. I'm certain she was well loved and showed absolutely no signs of ill treatment, but she was extremely nervous anywhere near people (or even walking by doors, which people come out of!) and would bury herself under the sofa and shake if we had visitors.

She's still timid, but she's a very very different little dog now.

This is probably the first morning we had her - just as she decided I might not be trying to eat her:

And the first time she started to play at the beach a bit:

Best pals. Had blue boy out for a run then covered same distance as a walk with daughter and her big bull mastiff so he was very tired...

I find it difficult to get a great photo of Fraggle, but this one isn't bad.

Remember you are training two of them, as well, which makes it harder. Don't beat yourself up.

nono

Make that three. It's a learning curve for you too. Don't expect perfection from the dog(s) or yourself immediately.
