Ours isn't a fan of the hoover either, although since we got the battery Shark stick one he doesn't seem to mind half as much, the hair dryer I think he just tolerates cos it warms him up nice a quick, he even shuffles around to get it in the right spot sometimes laugh

Shuffles. Good word. Bruno definitely shuffles. He does this weird head flick thing when he walks in front of me like he’s checking I’m still there...hehe. And he bum shuffles Freya (the lab) out of the way all the time...shuffles is definitely the best word for him.

They do seem to have great characters, every one I’ve met has some quirks about them.

I will have to try and remember to video the hair drying after his next shower so you can see the Rocco Shuffle biggrin

We ended up with Bruno because our friend’s dad bred them a couple of times and he was the last of the litter. My lovely wife pulled up on the drive and our youngest jumped out holding him...had no idea we were getting another dog...anywho...apparently, but I’ll welcome any corrections, they are known as clown dogs because they are funny little things!

Bruno is definitely a funny little thing. Dare I say it but more character than Freya who is totally a lab. She’s an obedient and lovely dog...Bruno is bonkers...friendly to his family, small man syndrome with other people and has lots weird habits...well weird compared to a lab.

My girlfriend's gorgeous little Frenchie also has some unusual traits, dear little rascal that he is!

1. If he picks up something he shouldn't have and you try to take it off him, Mummy's sweet little Frenchie becomes an instant velociraptor. My scars have almost healed...

2. On a walk, if he decides that he's going no further, that's a no-compromise event. All 4 legs dig in and nothing will persuade him to keep going. Nothing. Turn round the other way and he's fine.

3. He loves pottering about on the 6th floor terrace. But if he hears a scooter going past, he goes utterly bananas as he has a hatred of the things. Motorcycles are almost as bad... Passing airliners are no problem though.

4. After getting back from a walk, he usually hops up onto the sofa. But then a few minutes later he goes utterly nuts - the ears go back and he shows the whites of his eyes whilst chasing about on the sofa until he's finished his Mad Minute - then he's back to his normal snooze-hound self.

5. Latest new trick is to become a total blanket-mole. If there's a blanket on a bed or sofa, he burrows underneath until he's satisfied, then wriggles round until his little head pops out again...

Frenchies - weird but wonderful and utterly adorable!

Been a while since I posted here but we went for a New Year walk at the local reservoir yesterday.

Thanks,

Apologies for long answer.

Yes, Only because jean is such an awesome dog. She is so lovable, careing and she’s hilarious. She definitely has more dingo in her, it’s like living with a mostly trained but wild animal. I thought Logan was odd Jean goes up to 11

it’s a lot lot harder with with two going places I wouldn’t go in a pub with them both like I used to with Logan which I miss, and these two are well behaved mostly. Jean is. MOre inquisitive Logan will just sit at my feet. But she may calm down in a few years.

To be honest they are not that much of a handful I exaggerate a little but I’m allowed to,
they need a lot of stimulation and exercise but I knew that, this is only an issue when I’ve had health issues or Logan has, then it’s hard work as they get restless but they don’t damage anything . Well apart from Jean she costs me £200 a year in socks.
They just pester you relentlessly I know immediately if I get home and they haven’t had a walk. I might pretend that’s a pain but it isn’t really.

We’ve been working on Logan’s dog aggression and he’s 80% better but Jean although she will not fight will bark at other dogs which then sets Logan off. So I think we are on a losing battle there having them both.

Logan backs off a lot from Jean, she’s top dog, this is probably my only real regret and something I never considered.

he’s always around but if Logan wants a cuddle Jean will squeeze inbetween us and he will go away, we do get them (hugs)occasionally but not like we used to. This is a shame because Logan cuddles are special, he’s so soft smile and I have a connection to him that I didn’t ever think I could have with a dog. He’s awesome.

They will play together up to a point in the house and Jean wants to play with him, she actually drops toys at his feet wants to play tug but he won’t take stuff most of the time when she’s there, if he has a toy and she walks up he drops it for instance.

If you’ve seen any ball throwing videos Logan will generally get there first because he cheats but he drops the ball as soon as Jean arrives and Jean brings it back.

Logan For such a mild mannered dog it’s frustrating how he sometimes wants to Tare other dogs apart. I used to love watching him play I cannot trust him to do that now. Jean is ok with other dogs but she plays rough, not nasty, just very rough and a lot of them don’t like it. She is very powerful for a small dog.

They run about and play together well when out and all they want to do is go out. So in that regard yes it’s great we got Jean.

We feed them separately now too as Jean will take Logan’s food then eat hers and Logan will just sit back.

They have a proper fight about once a month and it’s always Jean attacking Logan then Logan fights back and all hell is on. I have scars from separating them, 30 seconds later they are kissing each other.

You can’t get angry at Jean for long, you just can’t she’s special, she really is.

Jean will not go anywhere without Logan and Logan won’t go without Jean, I mean all four paws are planted if you try and take one like , we have been doing with Jean because of Logan’s leg.
If a cattle dog doesn’t want to move you’re only option is picking them up with their handles.

Somewhat concerned about our dog Fraggle tonight.

Since Tuesday she hasn't being doing a poo very well and has often asked to be let outside to be a little sick. This afternoon she did not eat any of her dinner (which has fresh chicken in it) and frequently wanted to go outside. She was digging in the flowerbeds and appearing to be sick in the hole before trying to cover in the hole.

I then saw her trying to poo again and went out to check what she had done (because I hadn't seen a proper solid poo since Tuesday). I found about two tablespoonfuls of bloody mess. So we rang the vet and ended up taking her in out of hours.

The vet said the blood wasn't good but because she seemed perky, good colour in her gums and obviously not de-hydrated he was prepared to let her home for the night. As he was preparing some paperwork she then dropped a LOT of mucous bloody mess all over the floor of the surgery from her bottom. I would guess about a good quarter to half a pint. Needless to say she is now in vet hospital where she will be monitored and on intravenous fluids.

It looks to be Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis which is treatable but I must say we are worried sick at the moment. She's only a small dog to have lost that much blood.
