I saved a bee today!

I put up a few bee nest boxes this spring, ranging from cheap £20 boxes, to one nearer £100
Whilst the dearer ones have remained unused, the cheap one is in good use with mason bees and leaf cutter bees.
The leaf cutter bee bites a piece off a leaf and uses it for chambers in the tube to lay her eggs and deposit pollen, then plugs the end of the tube with a leaf. Mason bees use mud.
Here's a photo just now of the three nest boxes. Conveniently a bee was going in and out of the tubes as I took the photo, I think it's a leafcutter...
And a previous photo of Mrs Leafcutter arriving with a piece of leaf...
