It's Caturday- Post some cats (vol 3)
Discussion
Here are my pair, both sisters and rapidly approaching 15yrs old… not that they behave like it. The darker one is Kira who’s been run over twice before so has a fair amount of metal in her legs and pelvis but still going strong.
Any tips on helping them stay healthy as they get even older? Must admit I’m dreading the day when we have to say goodbye to them so I’m basically a big softie with them now. I seem to be a butler as I open the front door for them multiple times a day despite having a perfectly working catflap nearby.
I also put up with a lot of dribble from the pair of them when they’re happy or getting fussed over. Yuk

I'm relatively new to cat cohabitation, but I'd say at least yearly check ups, including blood test. Also keep an eye out for any change in behaviour, lethargy, withdrawal, or eating/drinking. Cats are very good at hiding any pain or illness, so you need to spot it and the sooner the better.Snowy was quite lethargic, not eating/drinking as usual for a couple of days. He'd improved on the third day, but took him to the vet anyway, which was lucky, as he has early stages of kidney disease. So a special diet and another blood test on Wednesday.
