Well he's been treated like royalty all day. I went out to get the finest wet food and he opted for the cheap dry stuff that has been in the cupboard for the past two months! after he scoffed it down he had a little bit of milk and retreated to my bed where he has slept for the past seven hours!

Meet Mystic biggrin

Here he is on 'his' landing!

Wow - that's awesome!

Only stumbled across this thread yesterday and thought the worst after reading page 1! It's amazing how many cats do this, though and the frustrating thing is, you'll probably never know what happened!

Lovely cat, by the way smile

Posters are up and leaflets handed out.

Horrible thought but how long are cats able to survive without food or water?

I believe that him being locked up is the only logical solution. im tempted to go round each garage to see if i can hear anything.
My mate Tia's cat went missing on the first of August.

She came home on the second of September, emaciated and very very thirsty but essentially fit and well.

Tia reckons she must have been shut in someone's house while they were away for an extended summer holiday.

Cats are tough.

OMG, home after 2 months - bloody brilliant! bounce

Take this opportunity to make sure that his microchip details are up to date, chip still functional, correct phone numbers registered with chip company and the rest.

I've got one cat who I'm quite sure if she got out I'd never see her again. She's so terrified of everything that I think she'd just run and keep on running to get away from every unfamiliar sight, sound, smell... fortunately she's not in the slightest bit interested in actually going outside but it's always a fear.

The other 2 are chilled/lazy enough that I suspect they'd not go far - but one's got a gimpy leg and the other a brain injury and official vet advice is that they stay in 'cos they wouldn't be able to get out of trouble if/when they found some (brain injury kitty would quite likely actively try to make friends with a car or something...)

This goes 2 ways - having inside cats means I *always* know that they're warm and safe... but also that them getting out is a real worry because they don't know how outside 'works'.

That's fantastic news. He beat Cadbury's 6 weeks out there!
Its just awful when they are gone and if you are like me even now you wonder what exactly they were up to. But hey it doesn't matter.

Great news and yes you do tend to spoil them and keep them under house arrest!

Not my thread, but I'd like to think I was mostly responsible for this part of PH.

I can say this now he's back.

Your cat's very similar looking to ours, who'll be spending a couple of weeks holiday next week at the local cattery / rescue centre.

Apparently when Mrs D checked out the 'rescue' end of the business there is no shortage of very similar looking black tomcats waiting for new homes. Something to console yourself with next time. winkpaperbag

After a night of misery for the wife our outdoor cat wears these on her collar.

http://www.loc8tor.com/uk/loc8tor-pet.html

Not exactly cheap but has traced her to a neighbours garage.

And when her collar starts bleeping she often seems to head back home.

The other one is terrified of 'outside' due to poor eyesight and having had a tough time as a stray.
Thank you for posting that.

On the strength of your recommendation I've got a Loc8tor tag for my cat 'Bob'.

It works brilliantly!

He's quite the roamer, and I was always interested to see 'where' he went.

The other reason being that he's all black and therefore difficult to see. Should he be injured and hide somewhere he'll be easier to find with the tracker.

My childhood tabby cat disappeared and we found her after a few days in a neighbour's garden - clearly she'd been hit by a car. The vets did what they could, but she was unfortunately too far gone frown

Had she been found earlier she could have been saved. I'd do anything to avoid the same thing happening to Bob.
