The girls' new Maclaw wheel arrived yesterday. Echo's already pretty good on it. Ishka less capable / convinced so far.
Great piece of kit by the way, really quiet when in use and build quality seems good, very solid.
Sorry for crap mobile pics, just took them on the fly.
Edited to try to fix links, fecking Goolge Photos isn't good enough!

I don't need to see it to know what it was
Is it worth the £££? If it is, now that we have Probate granted, I may invest... as a present to the cats from Dad; Dad was an Engineer and would appreciate that and it would have tickled him to death to see a blind cat in it (he'd also have taken it apart before it got to the cats )

start looking for a new kitten in the next few weeks. Already know what we want (maine-coon x, male) so that makes looking a little easier. Saw this little fella advertised yesterday luckily he's just too far away from us (think that over 3 hours drive is a little unfair on the poor fella!!) otherwise I'd be gutted to miss out on him!!!!

After 1 day I'm not sure I can give you a fair answer. Their initial reaction has been positive however and given how high energy they are and the fact they're indoor cats made me want to invest for the sake of my furniture / toilet roll / their health etc etc so I'm hoping they won't get bored of it. I'll report back in a month or so to see if they're still using it (either on their own or if I encourage them with lasers / feathers)Is it worth the £££? That's why I'm interested in your thoughts, but I didn't expect them to be immediate

He's gorgeous! If it helps, Pepi travelled home with me for 4.5 hours (Plymouth - Kenilworth) in the pouring rain - we got stuck on the M5 for a while! He was good as gold once I put the basket on the front seat so he could see me

Maclaw wheel action day 2
They've both been on it un-encouraged. Echo's a contrary SOB and seems to enjoy going the other way to Ishka when Ishka's experimenting. Have had them walking / jogging gently by each other's side for a bit which is cute in it's own right.
This morning Echo got on and had a pretty decent canter for a while, merrily chirrupping away to herself. So far so good!

Wonder if mine would use one of those.. she's a bengal cross and definitely has the "high energy" aspect of the heritage, always tear-arseing around the house at a million miles an hour. Not sure I could justify £500+ on one though! They've both been on it un-encouraged. Echo's a contrary SOB and seems to enjoy going the other way to Ishka when Ishka's experimenting. Get a webcam set up looking at the wheel.
Yup will be sorting that this weekend with my Nest Security cam. Be curious to see if they're lazy buggers during the day still (Strong suspicion is yes)!dxg said:
Get a bike computer set up on it to monitor distance...
Ooh now that's an idea, computer might have a fit when I define wheel size though! It's pretty cool TBH, both are now jumping on and off all the time, sometimes for a leisurely stroll together, other times for a mad sprint whilst chattering away to themselves. They seem to love it, very pleased with the purchase so far.
