But have you tried clipping his claws yet ? laugh

We have tried every gadget we can find and Ella just curls into a ball and cries if we try to cut hers.
My dog used to freak out if I clipped my own nails!

Just came across this thread from the international child abduction thread (of all places!). Sensational work. Glad Teddy got the ideal outcome!

He's at the vet today having a skin tag removed from his back leg. Minor operation, and I suppose not strictly necessary, but if he snagged it in the fields, it'll bleed and bleed the vet said.

He's also 6kg lighter than when we got him. Yet eating like a horse. Must be all the exercise!

Had no idea how overwhelmed dog shelters were.

My girlfriend has no option but to try to rehome ‘her’ dog, Teddy. It actually is really her ex husband’s dog, they got divorced 18 months ago, and he always said he’d have the dog back when he sorted himself out a place to live, but he’s now got a flat which is unsuitable and has refused to have it.

She needs to be dog free by the end of the month, and said I’d help try to find a new home for Teddy But after contacting around 40 places, from well known organisations such the Dog’s Trust and Birmingham Dog’s Home, to smaller places, I can’t even manage to get him on a waiting list.

Is this a regional problem? (In the Midlands) or is it the same across the country?
Sorry, but too many people have too many dogs.

Why get a dog in the first place?

Why not find your local dog's home that doesn't put down healthy dogs (to salve you conscience). Then early one morning, go there, park round the corner so you don't appear on their CCTV, tie the dog up outside, tie a note to his collar to the effect - 'please take him' and leave him.

Job done.

Because Teddy is 8 years old. And 8 years ago Teddy's circumstances were different.

It isn't necessarily the owner at fault all the time.

Just remember, you are all heroes for donating stuff for Teddy.

He's such a a laid back happy chap. We love him to bits. He's snoring his head off feeling a bit 'what just happened?' after today.

We all know this. Don't feed the troll. Some people can't help themselves. They need to start an argument wherever they post.

This thread isn't his, yours or mine. It belongs to Teddy.
