13 months after the loss of our beloved Morrissey, we finally took the plunge at the weekend. This little guy will be joining our six year old Liam, we sincerely hope we are doing the right thing by introducing a new cat.

Done it a few times and it always worked out for the best so I'm sure they'll be fine. What a stunner.

We lost our little friend, Cassius after 16 years a few weeks ago. Good innings, lovely cat and sorely missed. We were going to wait until winter before contemplating getting another cat but.....

Driving the kids home from school last night, middle of nowhere, I spotted a black lump on the road and at first I thought it was a crow. As we got closer, it was clearly a kitten in very poor health. We took him to the vet who scanned him for a chip etc, cleared him of maggots and filled him full of eye drops, anti biotics and worming tablets. He was pretty weak and the vet doubted he would have survived another night. He's about 8 weeks old, almost certainly feral and abandoned by his mother. Well, he has a home here now and the kids have named him Terry. He was really wary at first but really starting to get curious now. He's a cute little bugger!

Posted this in June last year. Terry is now about a year old and an absolute nutter! He still loves to play, never stops eating and is doing a great job of keeping mice out the house. Late last summer, we 'rescued' another cat. Actually a local semi-feral farm cat that wasn't really built for the wild. The kids named her misty and she'd settled in beautifully. Totally laid back ball of fluff.

I thought it would be a few years before I posted one of these messages.

We are on holiday and had a call this morning to say our beloved Tigerlilly died in her sleep last night.

She was only about nine and seemed in fine health.

We are devastated at her loss and the fact that we were not there.

Sudden death in middle age is really sad - commiserations frown

Unlike cats who reach a ripe old age before departing. My cat is 15 years 9 months but still chases around with the wind up her tail. I'm very lucky.

Our other cat is at the cattery.

Tigerlilly is buried under a fruit tree

I expect more tears when we collect Zorro and then more when we get home.

Thanks for all your good wishes

Sorry to hear about your cat, Gary, but your picture did make me laugh. Cats certainly have a gift for ‘dominating the bed’ when it comes to house sharing with dogs.

This is a picture of my son’s cat, only in the house for a week, already expecting the dog to move over.

The dog is called Ella. I was desperate for them to name the cat Sam (geddit?) but the grandkids insisted on Socks.

Oh man, Really sorry to read this. Far too young but sounds like she passed away peacefully. RIP Tigerlilly

We've got these two in the house now. It was supposed to be overnight, but on the morning of taking them to their new home, the chap adopting said he'd thought about it and owing to his mental health, he cannot take them.

We'd already filled their space in the cattery as we have limited availability. We're looking to name them, we're thinking a male and female double act - can anyone think of any?
