I am not a cat lover, never have been. They make me sneeze and leave me cold. I especially despise all those cat photos that cat-lovers think are cute.

So when I almost stepped on a small bedraggled ball of fluff while out for a run the other night I should have just jumped over it and carried on. It was on the pavement of a busy road, looking like it was trying to cross over. It would not have made it even halfway. I bent down and scratched its ear and looked for where it might belong. There was nowhere obvious. No houses there, just a building site. The creature was dirty and underweight and feral (lots of em round these parts) and soon-to-be-dead if it ventured onto the road. I jogged on and the damn thing followed me, mewing pitifully. I stopped again and scratched behind its ear and tried to shoo it away. No good, it still followed me. Anyway something in my cat-despising system briefly malfunctioned and I scooped it up and brought it home. A week and a visit to the vet for vaccinations later and the apartment is full of kitten paraphernalia, kitten food and kitten toys and a kitten that races around chasing everything. I am pretty sure Mrs Aya and the small Ayas love it more than they do me.

Anyway the point of my post is to ask for the link to that hilarious PH story about the cat that was taken to the vets. Anyone remember it, it was brilliant?

Please do not post any so-called 'cute' cat pictures.

Morning all. Defo a 'street cat'. There are lots and lots around here living in all sorts of nooks and crannies inc e.g. under the stones in the sea-wall. Much be a bit wet in a storm! Lots of kittens. Some people feed them so they are used to human contact. Apparently the local street cats (and dogs) when they are adopted as pets are the most friendly, good tempered, pets imaginable. This one is doing well and has doubled in size over the past couple of weeks! She likes playing with socks, tuna fish, and annoying our pet parrot.

Here is a pic (apols for the poor quality).
