Greyhound behaving oddly---advice please

Our greyhound who we have had 18 months or so has started behaving a bit oddly, he has always slept in the kitchen on a night, we have a routine where we let him out then put his bed in the same place in the kitchen. The last few days he has been really unwilling to go to bed, and has gone running back into the living room and laid down on the rug and I have had to make him go to bed.Also yesterday he seemed distressed all day with no apparent cause (shaking and panting like he does around bonfire night)He also messed on the kitchen floor when my wife was out for 20mins yesterday and again overnight.He has also been off his food a bit, normally he wolfs it down in seconds, both last night and this morning he left his food for hours before he actually ate it.
Nothing has changed in the house, he is on the same food our routine hasnt changed and tbh we are a bit confused. The only problem we have had is that he had a swollen foot a couple of weeks ago and what appeared to be an infected bit between 2 toes but it cleared up before I could get him to the vets.

Boiler suddenly making strange sounds
Building work in neighbours house
Attempted burglary

All of the above caused the affected dogs to become fearful of a room (nearly always the kitchen) that they had previoulsy been ok with.

He may get over it in time but for now he may need a break from being made to go in the room.

You could try zylkene, Kalmaid and DAP diffuser to try and chill him out and make sure he only experiences positive things in the kitchen for the next few days (treats, praise, attention etc) and see if he comes round.

If there is any chance of a new ongoing sound upsetting him then you will need to try and find the source before trying to tmpt him back in.

Other than that I'm not sure what else it could be assuming he is otherwise well in himself, if there is a chance of pain this may be cause issue and cause him to act up so it may be worth a vet ck.

Sorry for the slow reply I have been away working again,he has been fine for the last few days but was behaving oddly again today. During the day his bed is in the living room, this afternoon he sat up, looked into the kitchen then sat there shaking for about 30 mins. (it was raining heavily at the time so I wonder if it is the rain rattling off the conservatory roof, but nothing has changed in there)
