Can anyone help with a Gecko problem??

I've been house sitting for my parents these past few days and also looking after my brothers Geckos.

I cant remember what king they are but he said I had to spay them once a day with a water bottle on a mist setting. Anyway yesterday I forgot whoops, but they have now changed colour. They were a pale tan colour before but now they have gone a dark brown. Is this from me over watering them the previous day before I forgot or is this a sign of them being dehydrated? Also how long until they go back to there previous colour?

my brother is coming back on Tuesday evening so hopefully I havent hurt them and can get them better before they come back.

they have a UV light but they said to me it was better if I left it off rather then leaving it on and forgetting to turn it on at night.

So if I put the light back on tomorrow for the day and turn it off at night they should change back perhaps?

thanks for the feed back everyone. they have returned back to there previous colour. I believe this was due to them not being sprayed because since them getting a good dowsting yest they have gone back to normal. The UV light has been put back on today and will stay on till this evening and same done for the following days
