New addition to the family!
Discussion
Good advice W12 and yes advice that we have adhered to. We specifically wanted a GSD with a straight back and have all the KC ligneage and associated hip scores checked out.
We already have a mad as a hatter 3 legged Boxer and a stubborn old lady Staffordshire so he will be getting somewhat a baptism of fire!!
The better half is a dog groomer and ultimately hopes to do obedience with him.

Little update. So he's been with us a week now and he's settled in very well and doesn't even wake us during the night!!
Only one carpet accident as well!!
The other dogs are fine with him and as he has been accepted he's become more adventurous.
Last weigh in was 7.3kg on the 1st, today he is 8.1kg and he certainly likes his grub!!
Here's a up to date pic.

Latest update as it's been a couple of weeks.
He's now 17.7 kg and seemingly bigger by the day!
He has now been to two training classes and many walks down the park and other busy places and he pretty much for a puppy, is taking it all in his stride.
All in all it could not be better and here's an updated pic.

It's been a while but a recent German Shepherd thread prompted me for an update.
Bear will be 2 in January & he has always been a great dog & a major part of the family.
I give a lot of credit for this to my wife who went to training classes with him until just a few months ago. He's very well behaved & we can walk him off the lead with no problems. He comes running with us as well with no problems. We can even get him to poo on command.....
He is apprehensive in his nature & doesn't appreciate complete strangers approaching him directly, same for boisterous dogs. A small period of getting to know does the trick. Very much a Shepherd in this respect.
He is usually around the 41kg mark & eats a lot, but weirdly eats very slowly. A bowl of food will take about 10 minutes! Our other two dogs literally inhale their food in seconds.
Any way some pictures of a grown up Bear.

Thanks all.
He's generally 41kg give or take a kilo either way. He's still fairly slim under all that hair so I think he'll fill out a bit at some stage, like we all do.
One thing I forgot to mention, he's only just started to cock his leg a month or so ago. A trait of the breed, GSDs take a while to mature.
