So I have two cats both about 9 years old, one boy one girl, always lived together.

The girl is and always has been very nervous to the point that someone comes into the house and you can hear her going out through the cat flap.

Next door have been there for year or so and have two cats, one of which seems to have taken a shine to my girl to the point that it sits out side our cat flap waiting for her (or lurks round the corner/ under cars etc). So now she doesn't want to go out to the point that she is stting and pissing on my carpets. It has completely ruined one whole corner of the room (rented house so not exactly brilliant).

Its now got to the point where I don't want to go home as picking up st and wiping piss plus the associated smells just gets me down.

Does any one have any ideas what I can do? Tbh i'm not adverse to rehoming her if I could find someone to take her!

Chusck her out for certain periods of time? Chase off the other cat maybe?
It always seems to be overnight or when I get in from work so would mean them only being in an hour or so. Next doors cats seems to be shut outside most of the time (no cat flap and always out).

How many litter trays do you have - I see no mention of them in your post - or do both cats usually go out to do business?
Both the cats have always used the facilities outside.

I can get the litter tray idea...

However I'd prefer (like the last 8/9) years for her just to not st in the house! I also don't want to encourage the other one to to start using it!!!

SO I spent half of yesterday cleaning the carpet again, bought cat litter a litter tray, all good last night, got home from work and a steaming st next to the litter tray.... I just can't do it anymore... I'm thinking about cancelling the holiday i've got booked in March as I don't think I can ask the neighbour to clean st off my carpet all week frown

Whats the best way to go about rehoming her?
