Would anyone be able to identify this spider? The species rather than his personal name.

I have lived in my house for 7 years and have never seen this type of spider (in the garden) before. They are now everywhere this year.

I’m not trying to get rid of them, I’m just curious what they are. As they are now everywhere and I keep accidentally walking through the webs and getting them on my face!

It's great to see so many of these around.
Thank you, glad it’s nothing that’s escaped from a banana crate, I’m hoping they eat weevils!

Off topic I know, but when my daughter (now 12) was little, she was scared of spiders. Through luck rather than judgement, I told her to be kind to them as they are all called Gerald, even the girls (causing much confusion) and it actually worked
I don’t know, that spider looks like his name is Jimmy fking saville.

Luckily they only seem to be abundant in SE ENGLAND. Where I live. fk

Normally you Google these things and they are small and say harmless. This thing is a monster and AGGRESSIVE.
