And maybe a few weekends in Europe.
And Scotland, any-place/any-time there's some decent snow smile

Where's good to go for a bunch of beginners, but would also have some more taxing slopes for the two show-offs who spent the last two years as ski bums?
Cheapness is good, so I guess Europe. No-one speaks Italian, Austrian, German - is that likely to be an issue?

I am off to spend the season snowboarding, and the odd bit of work, in Courchevel. I fly out on the 26th November and will come back around the 24th of April. Or more likely, the 28th of November when I have broken both of my wrists after boarding off a cliff trying to impress a chalet maid or a nanny!

I'm going. I know when, just not where. Or who with. The usual group are unemployed/getting married/new houses/new babies. It's a sad, sad time!

But I'm going. And I've got that "excited child on Christmas eve" feeling! Thanks for reminding me.

Bring on the sick pow, or whatever it is the cool chaps say! yes

Not booked yet but was in Soll last season, great slopes and nice small town with live bands most nights in the bars, price of ski pass was a bit expensive apart from that was ace.

Yeah, pass was £160 but I guess not bad when you consider it gives us access to 279km of tracks in the skiwelt.

Should be a good laugh, we all promised ourselves that we'd go somewhere nice as the last few times we've gone to concrete council estates in the mountains (pas de la casa and Bansko), Soll looks picture postcard in comparison.

Bring it on, can't wait.

Mrs Streetrod, the kids and myself are off to our holiday home in Whistler Canada on the 23 Dec for Xmas and New Year, I can’t wait. The one downer has been the cost of flights this year, "£3000”yikes But these prices don’t seem to have put people off as the planes apparently have been full for the last couple of weeks. But I suspect the travel companies have reserved a whole bunch to themselves.

This is the year of the Winter Olympics in Whistler which start in Feb so I am looking forward to seeing what has been done in preparation

As you can see we take safety very seriously in the Streetrod house hold biggrin

Mrs Streetrod had managed to avoid the snow for the first 15 years of our relationship, but having tried sking for the first time after we bought the place in Whistler she now cant get enough of it. The kids love it too.
