How was that for driving? ... Or was there sufficient traffic that if there are any dramas a lift out of there won't be too difficult?
I visited DV in Feb, when it was a nice pleasure temperature. There's loads of traffic on the main routes so no worries about flagging people down or summoning Rangers.

Depends what way you go if you go via death valley junction loads of traffic well its not the m25 but every few minutes, even went past a BMW test car yesterday.
Via badwater much less traffic but still quite common but both ways NO phone signal from pahrump really hottest place was furnace creek at 97 deg drops off quite rapidly in places to the 80s but on a bike you will be warm ! Getting offroad is a must IMHO rent a jeep in furnace creek.

Oh food at furnace creek inn is very overpriced and not great quality $45 for a ribeye that wasn't cooked to my liking, cold service with an unrequired air of pretentiousness.

Oh yeah why do I wake up at 4:30 every morning !?! Its getting annoying

I got back from Vegas yesterday after a week I doubts I got more than 4 hrs a night, regardless of what time I went to bed.
I was working so I couldn't even get a lay in frown

Air-conditioned to the point of being noticeably cold at times.
Even the sidewalks have cold air blasting over them in places.

Tipping is a pain in the USA.
Hired aircraft out of North Las Vegas, staff there tell me they had female students who financed their flight training from the tips they received, ususally $500 a week!

Amazing.

Can anyone tell me if there are a lot of jewellers in Vegas?

I'm considering buying my wedding band over there in the hope I can get a higher quality ring for a lot less £££ or $$$ as the case may be.

We arrive on the Sunday and get married on the Thursday so I guess we would have enough time to find me one!

edit: I really don't want to spend more than £400 here as my fiancee's ring was a fortune lol...I'm hoping I could bag something worth maybe double the price for half the money in Vegas.

Any input on this would be appreciated. I'll do my own research but value input from here too.

Between every casino is a shopping mall with high end shops in most, you wont have a problem finding a jeweller

That's how I normally work but local tipping can always be unique. If you see what I mean.

TIps:

$2 per drink (either 'free' (whilst gambling) or 'paid for' at a bar)

Food 20%

Valet parking $5 on collection

Cabs - suggested tips appear on the meter screen. Maybe a Buck or 2 to the fellow who puts great effort into opening the door for you.

Casino Dealers - "2 Way, Hard 8!' biggrin

Nightclubs - Everyone, to the tune of $100s if you go for 'bottle service'. Serves you right for frequenting such places.
