Good news, hopefully it's still there on Apr 8th when I arrive
Iv3 decided to self drive for the first time, any hints or tips would be appreciated !!
Yes good news as we arrive same day - via plane and transfer though. Iv3 decided to self drive for the first time, any hints or tips would be appreciated !!
Any recommendations for a restaurant in Val T when the chalet staff have their night off ?
Its mixed group of parents and grown up children so nothing too rowdy !!!

We left Avoriaz today. Rained most of yesterday and last night so it was looking pretty grim on the way down. Conditions were mixed last week but all days skiable with some good snow Monday/Tuesday. Yesterday was pretty pants.
Unless the temperature drops considerably again and more snow falls soon next week will be a bit patchy.

You there for the party week?
No, returning today. The weather was awful on Friday, with most lifts closed by lunchtime. We left after lunch, stopped for dinner and an overnight stay in Dijpn and are just at Calais. So many British cars heading down in the opposite direction - there cant be an XC90 or a Discovery 5 left in the UKIn Val Disere for the easter hols, with our 2 kids and other family. Drove down in convoy on Saturday. Was nice to rock up with some fresh white stuff as it looked like a winter postcard for the kids.
Fab conditions today - although got a bit cooked.
1622hp and 400L of fuel on the way! Mine is the E63s estate and it’s perfect for the drive - did a handy 24mpg and despatched everything at the peage sprints…

Did you do the ferry or tunnel? I'm setting off on Friday for a 11pm sailing and starting to flap a little about the weekends cluster at Dover. Really don't fancy adding 6+ hours to the trip sitting at passport control Fab conditions today - although got a bit cooked.

Tunnel, flexiplus ticket. Straight through on to the next train, was on a train within 30mins of arrival.
This is the way. Also provides the option of grabbing some snacks from the “lounge” (read: portacabin) which can be eaten during the crossing for one fewer breaks on the main journeys.
