Not actually booked yet but I'll be going back to the dolomites in march. Anyone done the Sella Ronda?
Yes, earlier in the year - Feb half-term; queues were very long in places as some of the lifts aren't that big. Cracking scenery though. We stayed in Val Gardena (of PH interest there was an Integrale Evo 2 parked behind our hotel )
Valmeinier again for me in late January.
For the first time in over 10 years i'll be going a winter season without a trip to the mountains
Combination of a tough year financially and continued recovery from shoulder surgery which I had back in august.
But to combat this, just put a deposit down on a two week trip to Park City, UT in winter 2020...one of my bucket list resorts!! Silver linings and all that.

Gone for sometheing a bit different for the next trip and have booked a trip to Ruka, Finland in February. We've got a young 'un who will be 21 months old at the time of travelling and are taking my parents, only one of which skis, with us so were looking for something a bit more family friendly and with plenty to do that isn't on the slopes. Finland seems to tick those boxes, but with the limitation that it hasn't got the breadth of slopes that we've experienced in the usual European destinations.
There is a chance of seeing the northern lights at that time of year and I have found that Juha Kankkunen has an ice driving school nearby, so will investigate the costs of that for a day off the slopes!

Ruka is sick...floodlit night-time park too. Got a few mates who have filmed video parts there, always fancied it.There is a chance of seeing the northern lights at that time of year and I have found that Juha Kankkunen has an ice driving school nearby, so will investigate the costs of that for a day off the slopes!

Back to Silver Star BC again for Xmas and New Year.
BA have tried their hardest to bugger us around by cancelling winter flights to Calgary in June and not telling us until October.... Longer route via Vancouver which is a pain, but worth it once we get there.
A slightly different promo video this year, centered on Josh Dueck, who is local to the mountain.

For those that have skied Japan in particular niseko, is 6 days enough or do you need more time there? I'm booked on a group tour thing but you make your own travel arrangements
Plan is to do a day in rusutu, day cat skiing and probably a day or two with a guide.
I know there's never enough time in a ski resort but would still look to do a further 1 or 2 weeks in Europe or america.
Also metal folding shovel with getting instead of the normal shovel?

Surely the answer is clear - anyone travelling significant distance to what would be a rare destination would want to spend longer than they would closer to home. Plan is to do a day in rusutu, day cat skiing and probably a day or two with a guide.

Would anyone seriously fly to Oz for a week? No
Garmisch again (just can’t tear myself away) in mid-Feb. Big family group and going for a full week this time so should be able to ski in a less frenetic manner knowing we don’t have to maximise every second.
Not coinciding with any world cup events, which is a shame as the Ladies downhill there last year was fantastic to watch.
Booked this just before I heard of the Eddie the Eagle ski experiences being put together elsewhere. Will definitely look out for that next year.
Safe skiing wherever you’re off to!

Just got back from an amazing week in Tignes/Val d’Isere with a bunch of Snowheads. Conditions were fantastic with fresh snow and blue skies it was a perfect start ready for the season.
Just waiting for my season pass to arrive for the Grand Massif as we’ve rented a chalet in Morillon for the season again

Rented a whole chalet for the season in one of the top resorts .... that’s doing it properly. Just waiting for my season pass to arrive for the Grand Massif as we’ve rented a chalet in Morillon for the season again

We used to have this place before for three years, but we let it go two years ago and always regretted it. The owner contacted me a couple of months ago and said it would be available and we couldn't say no. Although we're keeping it on an ongoing basis rather than just for the winter it isn't as expensive as you'd think for a season in many resorts. Usually not much more than a couple of peak weeks and an annual season pass costs about the same as 13 days so that's a bargain too. Factor in easyJet flights for about fifty quid return and it's cheap enough to fly out every weekend. We got sixty days skiing in the last time we had it.
If you got family and grown up kids with partners as we have it's really great value.

Although my brother lived in a top resort for a decade and ran a pub there, that's doing it properly
Kicker Day

Anyway, Japan booked so Tokyo for 3 days then Niseko for 6.

That's great going! I live in a ski resort and I don't think I got 60 days last season, and they tend to be half-days when I do go out. I've had 5 'days' so far this season. We've got 3 days continual snow until Wednesday, so I'm busy rearranging meetings on Wed to let me get out at 8:00 when the children go to school.

30 weekends ....or assume possibly a few full weeks so it really still is pretty much every weekend from Dec to early April. I've had 5 'days' so far this season.
